St. Jude Event Brings in $1.8 Million

Last May, the FedEx/St. Jude Angels & Stars Gala saw some 570 people attend the event, which was held at the InterContinental Miami’s Grand Ballroom. The fundraiser has been held for the last 15 years, and the 2017 event brought in $1.8 million to help fund the ongoing treatment and research at St. Jude, meaning parents don’t have to worry about the expense of paying for their child’s medical costs.

Beginning in 2002, the event has seen upwards of $6 million in funds raised to support St. Jude’s efforts. In addition to fundraising activities, Spanish television actor Adamari López and FedEx Express Mexico executive Julio Barrionuevo both received awards for their work on behalf of the hospital over the years.
